Important information about upcoming roof works at IRT Culburra Beach

Dear family member/resident representative,

I’m writing to inform you that essential roof restoration works will soon begin at IRT Culburra Beach Aged Care Centre.

These works have been planned to help maintain the quality and safety of our buildings, address areas of wear, and reduce the risk of future issues. Contract arrangements with our selected provider, CDCG, have now been finalised, and works are scheduled to commence from 22 July 2025, weather permitting.

What to expect:

• Estimated duration: Approximately 4 weeks (weather dependent)
• Work hours: 6:30am to 4:00pm
• Scope of works: Replacement of ridge capping and rusted screws, roof sheet repairs, flashing replacement, skylight upgrades to Illume solar models, service integration, and minor structural timber rectifications.

Staging of works:

To ensure safe operation of the facility and minimise disruption to residents and staff, works will be delivered in carefully planned stages:

• Week 1: Branson Wing and Evans Wing (excluding dining, foyer, kitchen, sitting room, office and staff areas)
• Week 2: Administration, Shoalhaven Court dining, resident laundry and main kitchen
• Week 3: Shoalhaven Court
• Week 4: Completion of all works

Safety and risk management:

The safety and wellbeing of residents, staff and visitors remains our highest priority throughout these works. A range of measures will be in place to minimise disruptions and maintain a safe environment, including clearly marked work zones, spotters, traffic management and regular coordination with the care centre team.

Specialist contractors will be following strict safety procedures and using certified equipment to manage any risks associated with working at heights or construction activity. We’re also taking steps to reduce the impact of noise, dust and vibration through careful staging and scheduling of work.

We will monitor the project closely throughout and minimise impacts on residents wherever possible. If you have any questions or concerns ahead of commencement, please contact your Care Manager.
