Outbreaks of transmissible infection

10 July 2026

From time to time, our residential care homes may be impacted by outbreaks of transmissible infections, including but not limited to COVID-19, respiratory infections and gastroenteritis-like illnesses. When this occurs, visitors may be asked to take additional precautionary measures to protect themselves, residents, and staff.

If you’re visiting during an outbreak, you can find helpful guidance on PPE and hand hygiene in these short videos: how to wear a mask, how to wash your hands with soap, and how to sanitise your hands

Below, you’ll find a list of IRT Residential Care Homes currently managing an active outbreak, along with any restrictions in place.

We update this information regularly to help you stay informed and plan your visits appropriately. Please check back often, especially before visiting, and consider calling the residential care home directly for the most up-to-date advice.
