IRT is proposing an expansion of IRT Macarthur Retirement Village, located at 2 Hyde Parade, Macarthur, to meet growing demand for independent seniors’ living options in the local community.
This exciting project represents the next chapter in our commitment to the greater western Sydney region to deliver more homes for older Australians that reflect their needs, values and lifestyle.
Our vision is to build on our existing community at IRT Macarthur to offer more independent living, lifestyle and wellbeing options for seniors in the local community.
With a strong presence already in the region, including Auburn, Peakhurst, Sans Souci, Campbelltown, Jannali and Sutherland, we’re proud to invest in its future to meet the needs of local communities.
Our aim is to provide the greater western Sydney region with more contemporary and accessible homes for older Australians, while encouraging genuine connection with the local community. Our proposed masterplan includes the following
An expansion of the existing retirement village on vacant land within IRT Macarthur to include approximately 112 independent living apartments, with a mix of curated ground floor units and penthouses, including parking for each new unit, guests and support services
On-site amenities including new communal areas and a multi-purpose Clubhouse to support community connection and wellbeing.
Landscape outdoor spaces to support a connected and accessible community.
Refreshed existing spaces within the community – including the current community room – to make them more functional, vibrant, and welcoming.
Engaging with current residents and neighbours of IRT Macarthur is a key part of preparing our Development Application (DA), helping ensure early planning reflects local knowledge and needs.
IRT expects to lodge the DA with Campbelltown City Council in 2026. Once submitted, the plans will be publicly exhibited on Council’s website before progressing through formal assessment and determination.
Subject to Council approval, the expansion will be delivered over multiple stages.
Once construction is complete, residents will be able to move into their new homes and enjoy all the benefits of retirement living.
