Age Matters. Empowering older Australians to live free from disadvantage

Age Matters tackles homelessness, social isolation and ageism head on. Why? Because disadvantage doesn’t discriminate.

Nearly 20,000 people over the age of 55 are homeless.

Less than 0.5% of rentals are affordable for someone on a pension.

Older women are a fast growing group experiencing homelessness.

We’re working to change this, and you can help. Support our work or donate online.

Help us make change happen

Every dollar you donate supports our work to empower older Australians live free from disadvantage.

Age Matters helps hundreds of older people each year who are facing homelessness and unsure where to go.

Supported housing

We help older Australians facing homelessness find stable accommodation that’s right for them.

Our team works directly with at-risk clients to help them find safe and secure housing.

Service Linkage

We are committed to helping people beyond their front door.

We help clients navigate complex systems, such as My Aged Care, and link them to appropriate services that address their individual needs.

Get involved

We assist older people to enjoy paid work, volunteering and social activities.

Volunteer with Age Matters and make a real difference to the lives of older Australians.

Help us create change

Our advocacy, mature age workforce and volunteering programs make it easier for older Australians to be valued, contribute to their communities and stay connected.

Help with housing, service linkage, advocacy or social activities. You’d be surprised what you can do with Age Matters.
