More than A to B: The role of free public transport in social engagement and well-being for older Australians

21 June 2018

This research will explore the mechanisms that link the provision of free public transport to perceptions of wellbeing and community connectedness in older age.

Free public transport travel enables better access to goods and services for thousands of older South Australians every day; but it may also provide less tangible benefits, such as opportunities for meaningful social interaction and a sense of participation, belonging and citizenship in the public arena.
