An update about the Milton Meadows property

13 May 2025

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am writing to provide you with an update about our progress towards developing the land we own in Milton, currently referred to as Milton Meadows. This land is located south of Milton and to the west of Mollymook between Warden and Slaughterhouse Roads.

You may remember that when we acquired the property, it already had a development approval to construct a retirement living and aged care complex. It is still our intention to revise the plans to better align them with our future service delivery model which aims to enable older Australians to age in their own home for longer.

We are continuing the planning process to make these revisions, and I hope to share more information about that with you soon.

Traffic

The original consent included the requirement for construction of a roundabout to improve traffic management where our site and Warden Road intersects the Princes Highway.

Having finalised discussions with local residents living near the proposed roundabout, we are now seeking a Construction Certificate. Once this is issued, by a Private Certifier, we can begin the main works.

The roundabout – next steps

In order to meet the requirements for the Construction Certificate and to prepare the site for construction you might notice some activity at the site in the coming weeks.

This includes:

  • Services-locating (including electricity, water and sewage)
  • Establishing survey controls to locate and map key points on the site
  • Identifying vegetation on the boundary for clearing
  • Establishment of relevant sediment and erosion controls
  • Installation of nest boxes to replace any loss of habitat and associated ecologist inspections
  • Establishment of a works compound
  • Establishment of tree protection zones.

These works will be carried out by Menai Civil Contractors, the firm engaged to deliver the roundabout project.

Brooks Community Engagement, community engagement specialists, will continue to work closely with residents living close to the site of the roundabout, as well as others who regularly use the Warden Road/Princes Highway intersection.

Yours sincerely,

Nia Briguglio
