Age Matters. Empowering older Australians to live free from disadvantage

Age Matters tackles homelessness, ageism and social isolation head on. Why? Because disadvantage doesn’t discriminate.

15,000 people over the age of 55 are homeless on any given night.

Long-term unemployment amongst mature-age workers is on the rise.

Men over the age of 85 are three times more likely to commit suicide.

We’re working to change this, and you can help. Support our work or donate online.

Help us make change happen

Every dollar you donate supports our work to empower older Australians live free from disadvantage.

Age Matters is the only organisation in NSW that specialises in helping vulnerable older people at risk of homelessness.

Supported housing

We help older Australians facing homelessness find stable accommodation that’s right for them.

Our team works directly with at-risk clients to help them find safe and secure housing.

Service Linkage

We are committed to helping people beyond their front door.

We help clients navigate complex systems, such as My Aged Care, and link them to appropriate services that address their individual needs.

Get involved

We assist older people to enjoy paid work, volunteering and social activities.

Volunteer with Age Matters and make a real difference to the lives of older Australians.

Help us create change

Our advocacy, mature age workforce and volunteering programs make it easier for older Australians to be valued, contribute to their communities and stay connected.

Help with housing, service linkage, advocacy or social activities. You’d be surprised what you can do with Age Matters.

Partner with us

Have you got an idea to combat disadvantage amongst older Australians? Are you breaking new ground in addressing issues in health, wellbeing and safety for our seniors?

At Age Matters we believe in the power of working together.
