Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to let you know that a small number of residents at your loved one’s aged care centre have tested positive for rhinovirus.
The residents, who live in Callala, are experiencing some mild symptoms and are regarded as stable. We are monitoring the residents closely in consultation with their GPs.
In response to these positive cases we have implemented our outbreak management plan, which includes a range of infection control protocols to minimise the risk of the virus spreading within the care centre.
Visiting arrangements
If you continue with your plans to visit the care centre during this outbreak period it is recommended you wear a surgical mask when visiting your loved one, which will be available at the entry. Please inform staff who you are visiting when signing in, as further PPE will be required to visit residents in isolation.
All other visiting arrangements continue to apply. You can find more information about our visiting arrangements on our website here.
As always please do not visit your loved one if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, even if the symptoms are mild.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely
Debbie Andrews
