Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience as we manage your loved one’s aged care centre in accordance with our Outbreak Management Plan.
I am pleased to let you know that the rapid antigen test results for residents in Crookhaven House yesterday were all negative.
We continue to care for one positive resident in Crookhaven House who is doing well and is progressing towards their recovery period.
In my message to you on Monday I informed you that a resident in Currarong House had tested positive on a rapid antigen test after returning from an outing. The resident has since been PCR tested, followed by another rapid antigen test, which have both returned a negative result.
All residents in Currarong House were rapid antigen tested yesterday and pleasingly all the results were also negative.
As there is still some level of risk for residents and to ensure any chance of transmission at the centre is reduced, today all residents will be PCR tested for COVID-19. Once we receive the results of the PCR tests, and assuming they are all negative, we are hopeful that residents in Currarong and Crookhaven House will be able to leave their rooms; and we can look to introduce restricted visiting back to these areas of the centre early next week.
In the meantime, our Lifestyle Team continue to support our isolating residents with a range of activities including video and phone calls to family and friends where required.
Visiting the care centre
A reminder that at this stage, Crookhaven and Currarong House remain closed to visitors except for compassionate visits by arrangement with the Care Manager.
Visiting to the rest of the centre can continue as per the arrangements outlined for NSW Aged Care Centres here.
Visitors must go to reception on arrival to complete a wellness screening, including a mandatory rapid antigen test.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are feeling unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
Please pass this message on to other family members as you deem appropriate.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
