Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to let you know that a resident in Sanctuary House at your loved one’s aged care centre has tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday evening.
The resident who is experiencing mild symptoms is fully vaccinated with three doses of the vaccine and is being monitored by staff. We have been in contact with their nominated resident representatives.
All other residents in Sanctuary House were rapid antigen tested as a precaution yesterday and all results were negative. These residents are now being cared for in their rooms where they will receive their meals.
We have now implemented our Outbreak Management Plan, which includes a range of strict infection protocols and precautionary measures, and are waiting for further guidance from local health authorities on a testing regime for isolating residents.
Residents in Sanctuary House who are required to isolate are being supported by our Lifestyle Team with one on one visits and have been provided activity packs, including puzzles and reading materials.
Visiting at the care centre
Unfortunately in addition to the above measures, Sanctuary House is now closed to visitors except for those making compassionate visits by arrangement with the Care Manager.
Our staff are available to assist residents to connect with family members and friends via video and phone calls. Please let us know if you or your loved one need us to help coordinate this.
Visiting in all other areas of the care centre can continue as per the arrangements outlined for NSW Aged Care Centres on our website here.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are feeling unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
I am writing to you as you are the person identified in our records as your loved one’s nominated representative. Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
We remain focussed on the safety and health of your loved one and are grateful for your ongoing support and patience.
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
