For seniors needing low-level support with daily living tasks
For those with care needs that go beyond what the CHSP can provide
For those who to prefer to pay privately or aren’t eligible for government funding
The cost of your home care services depends on the services you choose and your individual financial circumstances.
At IRT, we want to take the hassle out of understanding your home care fees. That’s why we’ve put together a handy guide to help you.
If you need a little helping hand to keep living at home and need home care, the first step (unless you’re paying privately) is to register with My Aged Care and get an assessment. This is the Australian Government’s aged care services portal where you can access information and apply for funding.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how the process works. If you need a helping hand from us, contact us. At IRT, we’re always happy to help at any stage of the process.
Contact My Aged Care to register and find out if you are eligible for Australian Government funded aged care services. They'll then refer you to your local assessment team for a face-to-face assessment to discuss your care needs.
You will also need to arrange an income and asset assessment to calculate how much you can afford to contribute towards the cost of your aged care services. This is used to determine how much funding you receive for care services.
After your face-to-face assessment at your home or hospital, you'll receive a letter with your results.
This letter will indicate if you've been approved for residential aged care, the level of care you'll receive, your referral code for these services and a personalised care plan.
Once you've been approved for home care services, it's time to find a home care service provider that suits your needs in terms of location, services and availability. Feel free to contact us to discuss things such as your culture and language options and our empathetic and experienced staff who will care for your needs.
If you have chosen IRT as the provider that best meets your needs, we will work with you to develop a plan based on your care needs, goals and what is important to you.
We’re here to help if you need some assistance or have a question or two. Simply call our friendly team on 134 478 or submit an online enquiry by clicking below.
