An update about IRT Crown Gardens
Aged Care Centre

11 February 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am pleased to let you know that the results of yesterday’s rapid antigen tests on residents were all negative.

While this is good news we continue to operate the care centre in accordance with our outbreak management plan and in consultation with the NSW Public Health Unit.

Our resident who tested positive late last week remains stable and we continue to care for them as they experience a range of symptoms.

All other residents remain well with no COVID-19 symptoms and we continue to care for them in their rooms, where they are being served their meals and being supported by our Lifestyle Team.

All residents will be tested again on Sunday using the PCR method; where swabs taken are sent to a lab for analysis.

I am grateful to you and all of our residents for your support and patience as we manage the risk of an outbreak in your loved one’s care centre.

If all results from Sunday’s tests are negative I am optimistic that we will be able to re-open the centre to visitors during next week.

For now the care centre remains closed to visitors with the exception of compassionate visits which will be arranged by the Care Team.

I will be in touch again on Monday regarding the results and next steps.

Please pass this update on to other family members as you consider appropriate.

If you have any questions please contact the Care Team via Reception at the care centre.

Thank you once again for your cooperation and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Nia Briguglio
