Frequently asked questions

You can expect to apply approximately 6-8 hours per week of self-directed learning in addition to class attendance.

An online learning resource and assessment pack will be provided and pre-reading is essential before attending classes.

No, there are no prerequisites for this course.

One day per fortnight including virtual sessions and face to face practicals held at IRT Academy in Wollongong or other site as advised.

Yes, 120 hours of work placement is required in an aged care centre. IRT Academy will assist in organising work placement but can’t guarantee work placement in areas where IRT does not have an aged care centre.
