Dear family member/resident representative,
This is an update about how we are managing the risk of COVID-19 and rhinovirus at your loved one’s aged care centre.
We have received the results from the PCR tests taken on Monday and unfortunately these returned three more positive cases. We are now caring for six residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. We are also still caring for a number of residents who are experiencing symptoms of rhinovirus.
Under the advice of the Public Health Unit, we are encouraging all residents to remain in their rooms and we are supporting them with their care and lifestyle needs.
Yesterday, we broadcast the Anzac Day service across the site via intercom for the residents to listen to in their rooms. Our lifestyle team are also delivering activity packs and offering to assist residents with making family connections via phone or video call.
All residents who have so far tested negative for COVID-19 will receive a PCR test today. If your loved one tests positive, staff will let you know by phone and continue to update you.
If you plan to visit the care centre while we are managing the risk of COVID-19 and rhinovirus, please assist us by complying with the following:
More details on our visiting arrangements can be found on our website here.
Please do not visit if you are unwell yourself, with even the mildest symptoms.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Yours sincerely
Belinda Pheeney
