Dear family member/resident representative,
I’m writing to share you with details of improvement works that are taking place at IRT Sarah Claydon Aged Care Centre, and to also provide you with information regarding the next residents and relatives meeting.
In the interest of maintaining the care centre the decision has been made to upgrade Mimosa Wing’s floor covering.
The work will involve removing the carpet in the common areas and hallways and replacing it with vinyl.
This work will start on Monday 15 May 2023 and it’s estimated to take seven working days to complete, with an expected completion date of Tuesday 23 May 2023.
What does it mean for you and your loved one?
There will be an impact on access to some areas of Mimosa Wing at different times while the work is being done, including access to residents’ rooms, however, staff will manage this on a day-to-day basis (the work won’t prevent people entering or leaving your loved one’s room).
Contractors will be on site to carry out the work during this period on weekdays only. No work will be carried out on weekends.
We will be upgrading the Wi-Fi and network at the care centre this weekend from 6pm on Friday 12 May to 10pm on Saturday 13 May 2023.
The purpose of the upgrade is to improve the overall user experience for residents, family members, visitors and staff, and to ensure better Wi-Fi and network performance across the site.
What does it mean for you and your loved one?
You and your loved one may notice some new faces around the care centre as members from our IT team carry out the upgrade.
There will also be a total network outage on Friday night from 6pm until around 10pm.
On Saturday there will be more localised outages as the wireless access points are upgraded across the site. If you or your loved one use streaming services on a smart TV or use a device requiring Wi-Fi access you may find short periods of disruption.
There will be no changes to the Wi-Fi network name or password at Sarah Claydon, and as such once the upgrade is complete you and your loved one should be able to connect to the IRT network as usual. If you find that there are any issues after the upgrade please let staff know.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience while this upgrade and improvement works are carried out.
Our next residents and relatives meeting will be held on Thursday 25 May at 10.30am.
All relatives and representatives are invited to attend. Please check in at Reception and you will be directed to the meeting venue.
We look forward to seeing you there. If you are unable to attend, the minutes of the meeting will be sent to you.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact Care Manager Tammy Tautai on 0448 126 187.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely
Linzi Kells
