Keep on keeping on: Predicting who will be able to work until they are 70 years old

21 June 2018

Age pension eligibility will increase to 70 years of age by 2035. However, it cannot be assumed that a population living longer can naturally work longer.

In this project we will estimate the number of people aged 65-69 years with the capacity to work, and the number unable to work due to their own ill health. We will also determine the main health conditions that are likely to prevent those aged 65-69 from working.
