Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre.
As you are aware we have been managing the care centre in accordance with our outbreak management plan since late last week when one of our residents tested positive to COVID-19.
We continue to care for that resident in consultation with health professionals as they experience a range of symptoms.
All other residents are well with no COVID-19 symptoms and pleasingly all returned negative results from the PCR tests conducted on Monday.
In accordance with guidance from the NSW Public Health Unit, all residents will be tested again tomorrow using the rapid antigen testing method and the next round of tests to follow this will be on Sunday.
I am grateful to all our residents for their patience with the testing regime and their understanding as we care for them in their rooms.
The Lifestyle team has been visiting all residents, providing them with individual activities of interest, and spending time with each resident to assist when needed including help to contact their family and friends by video or phone calls.
If the results of tests tomorrow and Sunday continue to be negative, we will consult with the NSW Public Health Unit regarding next steps towards re-opening the centre to visitors.
For now the care centre remains closed to visitors with the exception of compassionate visits which will be arranged by the Care Manager.
