Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update on your loved one’s aged care centre.
Since writing to you last Friday, I am pleased to let you know that a number of our COVID-19 positive residents have reached their recovery criteria and are enjoying moving around the age care centre more freely.
We are caring for two positive residents in Currarong, who are asymptomatic and due to be cleared in the coming days, and one in Callala House who is also on track with their recovery.
PCR tests conducted on residents over the weekend where also negative. The next and hopefully final round of testing for residents in Callala and Currarong House will be on Friday. If these results continue to be negative, the NSW Public Health Unit have advised that we will be able to begin our transition back to regular operations. I will update you again once we receive this information.
Visiting arrangements and the wearing of PPE
Until we can be share that risk of transmission has been eliminated, a reminder to reconsider your visit to the aged care centre or the need to take your loved one out of the centre. If you do proceed please assist staff by complying with the following:
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms. Even if you have tested negative for COVID-19 you could have influenza which is also highly contagious.
Please pass this information on to others in your family as you consider appropriate.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
