An update about IRT William Beach Gardens Aged Care Centre

03 August 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

Thank you for your support as we manage the risk of COVID-19 in our Nebo and Kembla cottages.

Since my update to you on Monday we have received results of tests conducted for residents in those cottages (except those already positive) and pleasingly all results were negative. In other good news we have welcomed back home our resident who was transferred to our COVID-19 unit in Kirrawee.

In further good news, one of our residents in Kembla cottage who had been earlier diagnosed with the virus, has reached their recovery criteria today. There are now two residents recovering from the virus in that cottage and they are stable with no symptoms.

In Nebo cottage there are currently two residents recovering from the virus who are also stable, however one resident has been transferred to hospital for further treatment and management of their symptoms.

While the risk of transmission remains all residents in Nebo and Kembla continue to be cared for in their rooms where they are being served their meals and supported with their care needs and help where required with phone and video calls.

Until we are certain the risk of transmission of the virus has been managed we will continue our program of early detection with another round of tests tomorrow for residents in Nebo and Kembla who have not tested positive.

I will provide you with another update on Friday when we hope to have the results of those tests.
