Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update as we manage the risk of COVID-19 at your loved one’s aged care centre.
Since writing to you earlier this week, I’m pleased to let you know that eight of our residents who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19 have reached their full recovery criteria and are now free of the virus. Seven of these residents are in Ribbonwood Level 2, and one resident is from Blueberry Ash.
In further positive news, residents in Blueberry Ash are no longer required to isolate, and are now free to leave their rooms and resume normal activities in that area.
Unfortunately, we have received further test results which confirm that seven more residents of the ground floor of Flametree have the virus. We are now caring for a total of 37 residents with the virus from Flametree ground floor and Level 2, and Ribbonwood Level 2.
Following consultation with family members we are expecting the transfer of two residents to our COVID-19 unit at Kirrawee today.
We continue to monitor all residents closely as they experience a range of mild to moderate symptoms and where appropriate they are being prescribed anti-viral medication by their GPs.
All residents, except for those in Blueberry Ash, are encouraged to remain in their rooms where they are being supported with their care needs, served their meals, and supplied with activities to suit a range of interests.
Residents who have not already tested positive to COVID-19 will be tested again today via the PCR method and I will provide you with another update early next week. As previously explained, if your loved one returns a positive test result staff will let you know by phone.
Restricted visiting
Visiting is restricted to those who provide essential care only and by arrangement with the Care Manager.
