Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre as we continue to manage the risk of COVID-19.
I am pleased to report that all PCR tests conducted on Saturday for residents in Elizabeth Kemp Cottage who have not tested positive to COVID-19 returned a negative result.
We continue to care for three residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Elizabeth Kemp Cottage. These residents remain stable and are displaying very minor symptoms. They are encouraged to stay in their rooms and continue to be closely monitored by our staff.
Unfortunately, this morning one resident who became unwell in Scott Cottage returned a positive COVID-19 result from a rapid antigen test. There has also been an exposure to COVID-19 in Peak Cottage. As a result, all residents in Peak and Scott Cottage will be PCR tested today. If your loved one returns a positive result, staff will let you know by phone and will keep you updated on their progress.
I will provide another update to you later this week with the results of these tests.
Visiting arrangements to your loved one’s aged care centre remain the same at this time.
As we manage the risk of COVID-19 at the care centre, visiting residents in Elizabeth Kemp Cottage is strongly discouraged at this time. If you do wish to continue with your plans to visit, the following arrangements apply:
There are no changes to visiting arrangements in all other areas of the care centre.
Please do not visit your loved one if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, even if the symptoms are mild. Even if you have a negative COVID-19 result you may still have influenza or another virus which is highly contagious.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely
Nia Briguglio
