Important information about IRT Thomas Holt Kirrawee Aged Care Centre

Dear family member/resident representative,

Thank you for your patience and support as we’ve managed the risk of COVID-19 at your loved one’s aged care centre.

I am pleased to share that four residents who tested positive to COVID-19 in the Jacaranda building have reached their recovery criteria and are free of the virus. We have also received the results of the PCR tests conducted on residents yesterday and pleasingly these were all negative.

While one resident in the Jacaranda building continues to isolate they have been deemed as a low risk exposure for the care centre, and the public health unit has approved our transition out of outbreak conditions in the building.

Visiting arrangements

While the public health unit has declared the outbreak over, for the utmost caution we ask that you please continue to follow PPE protocols as directed when you arrive at the care centre.

Please assist staff by:

• Completing your own rapid antigen test at home or on arrival at the centre and provide proof of the negative result (photo or actual test).
• All visitors are to complete the wellness questionnaire at reception on arrival.
• All visitors are asked to wear a surgical mask when visiting and other PPE as directed by staff.
• Please wear your PPE as instructed by staff. If a staff member asks you to adjust it they are doing so to protect you, your loved one, and all others living and working in the care centre.

Children under the age of 12 are now permitted to visit the Jacaranda building.

As always, please do not visit your loved one if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, even if the symptoms are mild. If you have a negative COVID-19 test result you may still have another type of infection which is highly contagious.
