Important information about IRT William Beach Gardens Aged Care Centre

Dear family member/resident representative,

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to manage the risk of COVID-19 at your loved one’s aged care centre.

I am pleased to share that the one remaining resident who had tested positive for COVID-19 has reached their recovery criteria and have been de-isolated. There are now no active cases of COVID-19 at your loved ones aged care centre.

We are currently awaiting the results of PCR tests conducted yesterday afternoon. Residents in Huntley Cottage will be tested again tomorrow. If your loved one returns a positive result, staff will let you know by phone and continue to provide you with a daily update regarding their progress.

If you plan to visit Huntley Cottage, please note that children under 12 years of age care discouraged until the public health unit has declared the outbreak over. All visitors to any area of the care centre are asked to comply with the following:

• All visitors must wear a P2/N95 mask and face shield (provided by the care centre) when visiting. This applies to ALL areas of the care centre – not just the two affected cottages.
• All visitors are asked to complete their own rapid antigen test at home or on arrival at the centre and provide proof of the negative result (photo or actual test).
• All visitors are to complete the wellness questionnaire at reception on arrival.

Remember if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, even if the symptoms are mild, please do not visit. Even if you have a negative COVID-19 test result you may still have another type of infection which is highly contagious.
