Dear family member/resident representative,
I am saddened to begin my update today with news that one of our residents who had tested positive to COVID-19 early in the current outbreak passed away yesterday. They had been receiving treatment in hospital for the effects of the virus and other un-related health issues.
On behalf of everyone at IRT I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to all of the resident’s family members and friends, including their fellow residents and our staff.
Pleasingly Levels 1 and 2 of Ribbonwood have been officially cleared by the Public Health Unit and given this our standard visiting arrangements have returned for those wishing to visit their loved ones in that building.
We continue to care for some residents on Level 2 of Flame Tree with the virus and PCR testing is being conducted today for those residents who may have been exposed to COVID-19. If your loved one returns a positive test result, staff will let you know by phone and continue to update you on their progress.
While there is a risk of COVID-19 within Flame Tree Level 2, children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit this area of the care centre.
Current visiting arrangements apply for all other areas of the care centre.
Please remember our visiting arrangements include the following:
Remember if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, even if the symptoms are mild, please do not visit. Even if you have a negative COVID-19 test result you may still have another type of infection which is highly contagious.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely
Rebecca Perry
