Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to share details of proposed improvements to be made at your loved one’s aged care centre.
The works to be undertaken are planned for Level 2 of the Flame Tree Building and are part of IRT’s commitment to ensure the aged care centre is welcoming, creates a sense of belonging and promotes independence, interaction and enjoyment for your loved one and their visitors. The proposed improvements are outlined below.
We have worked extensively with expert designers and decorators in the aged care sector to determine age appropriate furniture, colours, contrasts and textures that can be applied to the paint, furniture and fittings in common areas of our aged care centres.
We also apply research based principles to the use of colour to provide cues to support residents to navigate through the aged care centre.
Below are the proposed colours to be used in the common areas, including the lounge and dining areas. Hog Bristle Half is proposed for the walls above the handrail areas. Walls below the handrail areas are proposed to be Flaxen in some resident room areas and Italian Clay in other resident room areas to assist with wayfinding. Toffee Fingers is the colour proposed for doors.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the proposed improvements to your care centre. We encourage you to share your feedback with your Care Manager, Natasha Morris by Friday 28 April 2023. If everyone is happy with the proposed changes, we will engage the various contractors and provide you with notice of when the works outlined above will occur.
We are committed to keeping you informed during this process.
Kind regards,
Rebecca Perry
