Update of works at IRT Sans Souci Gardens Aged Care Centre

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am writing to share the details of works being conducted at IRT Thomas Holt Sans Souci Gardens Aged Care Centre and to explain what you can expect to see once your loved one returns.

All works are being undertaken as part of our commitment to ensuring the aged care centre is welcoming, creates a sense of belonging and promotes independence, interaction and enjoyment for your loved one and their visitors. 

Many of you were able to attend the IRT Thomas Holt Sans Souci Gardens residents and relatives meeting held at IRT Thomas Holt Kirrawee on Monday 6 March at 2pm. At this meeting we provided an overview of the works being conducted at Sans Souci Gardens and secured confirmation from those present to proceed with all works as outlined below.

Operational areas

• Kitchen upgrade including relining of the walls and flooring replacement
• Installation of a sanitisation room to enable provision of safe, quality care in alignment with resident needs

Common area

• Lift upgrade
• Physio room upgrade of electrics, repainting and flooring replacement
• Painting of all common areas including the lounge, dining and corridors – see below for more detail on the paint colours to be used
• Painting of common area toilet doors to aid with identification
• Update to all door signage including placement in line with braille recommendations
• Removal of handrails that are in poor repair and replacement of the same in high traffic locations
• Flooring upgrades including:
  • Carpet replacement in all lounge areas
  • Upgrade of the 1^st Floor corridor flooring to vinyl
  • Upgrade of the main stair case flooring to vinyl and replacement of the nosing on this staircase

Resident care suites

• Upgrade of care suite flooring to vinyl
• Painting of resident care suite doors
• Painting updates to a number of care suites
• Full bathroom replacement for care suites 34 and 35

Furniture updates and colours

• Replacement of lounge furniture on the Ground Floor
• Please note: this furniture has been ordered, but due to supply chain challenges may arrive after you return to Sans Souci Gardens.

The new furniture will be similar to the items pictured below.
