Important information about IRT St Georges Basin Aged Care Centre

23 February 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

Since writing to you last week, I am pleased to let you know that your loved one’s aged care centre remains stable with the results of the PCR tests conducted over the weekend returning a negative result.

Our two COVID-19 positive residents have now been declared clinically recovered and have been able to join the rest of the care centre outside of their rooms.

With this pleasing news, and in consultation with the NSW Public Health Unit, we are now able to ease a number of restrictions at the care centre including a resumption of visiting.

Visiting arrangements

From tomorrow, visiting can resume to all areas of the aged care centre.

Residents are able to have two visitors, per day by appointment only. Please call reception to schedule your visit.

Visitors must wear additional PPE at all times while in the centre, including P2/N95 masks and eye protection. Visitors will need to provide evidence of a negative PCR or an IRT-conducted rapid antigen test from the past 72 hours. If you do not have evidence of a negative test, you will be required to undertake a rapid antigen test (supplied by IRT) prior to entry.

All other details regarding visiting arrangements for NSW Aged Care Centres can be found here.

Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Nia Briguglio
