Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update on your loved one’s aged care centre.
Since writing to you yesterday, we have unfortunately had another three residents in Magnolia Cottage test positive to COVID-19.
The residents are fully vaccinated and are experiencing mild symptoms of COVID-19. We are in consultation with their family to have them relocated to our dedicated COVID-19 wing on Level 1 of the aged care centre.
We are now caring for a total of 9 positive residents at the aged care centre. The residents are receiving care from our staff who are monitoring them regularly and are experiencing a range of symptoms from none at all to mild.
Staff continue to support residents in Magnolia Cottage who are being encouraged to remain in their rooms, as per the directions of the NSW Public Health Unit, and are working hard to keep them comfortable and entertained, with games, puzzles and other activities. Residents in Jacaranda Level 2 are able to leave their rooms following negative PCR test results, and can socialise within their area on Level 2.
Visiting arrangements
As I wrote to you yesterday, we strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one.
If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
For all other details of our visiting requirements for NSW aged care centres please see here.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
