At IRT we create communities where seniors achieve their optimum quality of life

Founded in 1969, IRT’s mission was to provide better options in housing and care for older people. Almost 50 years later, our purpose remains the same.

We improve the lives of more than 7500 people every day in NSW, the ACT and Qld.

We believe it’s our values as a community-owned provider that help us to be the best at what we do.

“I love the companionship, knowing I’m very safe, the staff – I love all the staff, they’re the friendliest lot – and the fun and laughter.”

Judith Thompson

“I’ve been blessed living in this place.”

George Findley

Michael Fares

“The help I get from IRT every day enables me to stay in my home. They make it a lot easier and they are wonderful, kind people. I love the social contact – they take me out to the club, along the lake, for lunch. And we talk about everything.”

Sheilah Barrie

IRT home care customer

“Getting down to the water three times a week is absolutely magic to me. IRT has really facilitated that. They’re very good. They keep a real eye on me and they’re very careful. So I have the confidence to go down there. It’s fabulous, absolutely fabulous.”

Jeannie Green

IRT home care customer

“There’s a very good community spirit here; people pull together. We have happy hour with the other residents in our block once a month and have made lots of friends. They’re a lovely bunch.”

Sid Wiscombe

IRT Kangara Waters resident

“We got the travel bug many years ago – we love seeing new places, experiencing different cultures. When we moved here we found it was so easy to travel. We lock the door and we don’t have to worry about a thing.”
