Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre.
You will recall that I wrote to you last Tuesday to let you know that a resident on Level 3 of your loved one’s aged care centre had tested positive to COVID-19.
The resident who was relocated to our IRT COVID-19 wing in Kirrawee is continuing their recovery.
Unfortunately since then we have had two more residents test positive on Level 3 following precautionary rapid antigen testing. The residents have mild symptoms and along with all residents on Level 3 are now being cared for in their rooms where they will be served their meals.
With the exception of one resident all those on Level 3 are triple vaccinated.
In addition to the infection control precautions we already had in place, we will commence daily rapid antigen testing of all residents on Level 3. Staff will also be tested daily.
Visiting arrangements
With an increase in case numbers at the centre we strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one.
If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one on Level 3 please do so, only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
For all other details of our visiting requirements for NSW aged care centres please see here.
If you choose not to visit the Lifestyle Team can assist where needed to connect residents with family and friends by phone or video call. They are also working to ensure that residents who are isolating in their rooms have access to activities of interest.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely
Nia Briguglio
