Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your ongoing support as we manage the risk of COVID-19 in your loved one’s aged care centre.
Since writing to you yesterday unfortunately another resident has tested positive to COVID-19 in Pearl Wing on Level 2. The resident is currently experiencing some mild symptoms and is triple vaccinated.
In consultation with the resident and their family, the resident will be transferred to our IRT COVID-19 wing in Kirrawee to be cared for during their recovery.
As you may recall, three of our residents who are COVID-19 positive are receiving care there and are doing well.
One of our positive residents remains at the aged care centre and is being supported by our staff.
All other residents at the care centre will be tested for COVID-19 again today and this daily testing regime will continue throughout the week. We are grateful to our residents for their ongoing patience with this process during this increased period of risk of transmission at the care centre.
Visiting arrangements
While the aged care centre remains open to visitors, I strongly encourage you again to reconsider the need to visit your loved one during this increase in case numbers.
If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one on Levels 2 and 3 please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.
As I outlined yesterday, all visitors will be asked to undergo a rapid antigen test each time they enter. So, if you visit each day, you must be tested daily.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
For all other details of our visiting requirements for NSW aged care centres please see information here.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
