Important information about IRT Links Seaside
Aged Care Centre

17 March 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

Thank you for your ongoing support as we manage the risk of COVID-19 in your loved one’s aged care centre.

Yesterday all residents at the aged care centre were once again PCR tested for COVID-19 and I am pleased that all have returned a negative result.

I am also pleased to let you know that our positive resident who has returned from our IRT COVID-19 wing in Kirrawee has now reached their recovery criteria and has been declared clinically recovered.

We are caring for one resident who is COVID-19 positive at the aged care centre and they are recovering well.

Three of our positive residents remain at our aged care centre in Kirrawee and are being supported by our staff there. They continue to experience a range of mild symptoms and are stable.

All other residents at the aged care centre remain free of any COVID-19 symptoms and are well. They will be tested for COVID-19 again tomorrow and over the weekend as per the directions from the NSW Public Health Unit. If any of the results return a positive result, I will be in touch with an update.

Visiting arrangements

As previously outlined, I strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one during this increase in case numbers at the care centre.

If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one on Levels 2 and 3 please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.

A reminder that all visitors will be asked to undergo a rapid antigen test each time they enter. So, if you visit each day, you must be tested daily.

Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.

For all other details of our visiting requirements for NSW aged care centres please see information here.

Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Nia Briguglio
