Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your ongoing support as we manage the risk of COVID-19 at your loved one’s aged care centre.
I wrote to you yesterday to let you know that a resident had tested positive to COVID-19 at the care centre. Since then, all of our residents have been PCR tested and unfortunately a second resident has returned a positive result.
The resident is experiencing mild symptoms and is now being cared for by staff in their room. We are in contact with their family.
I recognise the increase in positive cases is a concern and in response we have implemented further measures which includes encouraging residents to remain in their rooms where they are being served their meals. Our Lifestyle Team are providing support and working to ensure they have access to activities of interest.
PCR testing on all residents will occur again tomorrow. We will keep you informed of the results in an update next week.
Visiting arrangements
As previously outlined, we strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one.
If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
