Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre.
We have been informed that two residents have tested positive to COVID-19 via a rapid antigen test this morning.
The positive residents are experiencing a range of mild symptoms and are triple vaccinated. We are in contact with their family.
We are consulting with the positive residents and their families on the option to relocate to our dedicated COVID wing at IRT Thomas Holt Kirrawee to continue their care and services while they recover.
We have now implemented our Outbreak Management Plan which includes strict infection control protocols. This includes ongoing rapid antigen testing of all residents. Staff will also be tested daily.
Visiting arrangements
With an increase in the risk of COVID-19 exposure at the centre, we strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one.
If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.
Until we are certain that the risk of COVID-19 spreading within the centre has been contained, all visitors will be asked to undergo a rapid antigen test each time they enter. So, if you visit each day, you must be tested daily.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.

If you choose not to visit, the Lifestyle Team can assist where needed to connect residents with family and friends by phone or video call. They are also working to ensure that residents who are isolating in their rooms have access to activities of interest.
