Everyone that’s part of the IRT team plays a vital role in supporting and enriching the lives of our customers and residents. If you have a passion to work in the retirement living or aged care sector, whether you have experience as a carer or you’re looking to start a brand new career in a profession you love, we’d love to hear from you.

Aged Care

Working in residential aged care is a fulfilling career choice for those who want to make a difference to the lives of older Australians. Our aged care employees provide personal, physical and emotional support and care to our residents who require assistance with daily living in our aged care centres.

We’re also looking for dedicated hospitality aged care employees to assist with meal preparation, laundry duties, table service and maintenance of hygiene and cleaning in our aged care centres. If you’re passionate about building relationships and helping older people live their best life, we’d love to hear from you.

Home Care

If you’re passionate about developing relationships with your customers and helping older people with their day-to-day tasks so they can continue to live independently, home care could be the career for you. Our home care employees help our customers live their best life at home by providing a range of services like cleaning, transport, meal preparation and personal care. A rewarding career option that makes a valuable impact to people’s lives.

Registered Nurses

Registered nurses (RNs) are integral members of our care team. Working with our residents, carers and families, our RNs provide the best possible care for our residents and customers. We offer specific leadership training and other professional opportunities (such as our Journey of Care Program) to support career development and progression. We also offer graduate programs for students undertaking a nursing degree, or wanting to commence a nursing degree and work within the aged care industry. Our graduate program offers mentoring, paid work and paid study leave. We also provide financial assistance for university HELP fees and contribute towards the cost of text books.

Chefs and Catering

Are you a hospitality industry professional who thrives on delivering the highest quality product for your customers? IRT employs chefs, food preparation and hospitality employees, nutritionists, delivery drivers and other health professionals who are committed to providing nutritious meals safely to our residents and customers. The IRT Catering team at Unanderra produces around 52,000 home-style, nutritious meals each week.

Facilities Management and Maintenance

Are you a tradesperson who enjoys meeting new people and having variety in your day-to-day jobs? Our Facilities Management and Maintenance team deliver general, corrective, preventative and compliance tasks, as well as ensuring refurbishment programs at our sites are completed to a high standard in accordance with work orders, regulations and IRT policies and procedures.

IT and Innovation

Our IT and Innovation teams continually research, assess and implement new and exciting technologies that improve the lives of our customers. Also responsible for the management of hardware and software, troubleshooting, maintaining user access and security, and providing best practice advice, our IT and Innovation team play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and technologies.

Corporate Shared Services

Are you a business professional looking for your next career move? Our corporate service roles are integral in supporting all business units including aged care, home care, retirement villages, catering, IRT Academy and our social impact initiative, to operate successfully. Our corporate service roles are based in our Wollongong head office and include:

Apprenticeships and Trades

Are you looking to gain on-the-job experience for your trade? IRT offers apprenticeship opportunities for work experience in hospitality, electrical, general maintenance, painting, horticulture and a range of other trades and services. Apprenticeships are available at most of our sites throughout NSW, Qld and the ACT.

Property Development

Our Property Development team manages the planning, design and construction of new aged care centres and retirement villages, manages large scale refurbishments of sites and works closely with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors on development projects. If you’re a property development professional that thrives on ensuring projects and requirements are completed to the highest standard, we’d love to hear from you.

Customer Service

Do you love having a chat, building relationships and solving customer problems? Our Customer Service team is the first point of contact for all our customer enquiries, and ensure our customers’ needs are met, questions are answered and solutions are delivered.

Trainers and Educators

Our trainers and educators play a key role within the Learning and Development team and ensure the successful on-boarding and ongoing progression of new team members into our aged care and home care teams. If you’re a qualified Registered Nurse with experience in planning, developing and delivering training and educational programs, we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer with us

Volunteering is a great experience to meet new people, learn new skills and make new friends while making a difference. The IRT volunteer program is designed to enrich the lives of older Australians through meaningful connections. Our volunteers play a valuable role in supporting our mission and values.

We provide enhanced opportunities for volunteers to connect with IRT customers, and to contribute through volunteering within their own communities. In doing so, improving the quality of life for customers and volunteers, whilst achieving IRT social impact outcomes.

IRT welcomes volunteer application for a range of fulfilling roles that make a difference in the lives of older Australians. Some of the roles we offer are: companionship, friendly visitor, arts and crafts, activities and games, singing and dancing, social inclusion, and spiritual and cultural activities.
